The Long Range Hotel is the longest established hotel in Budleigh Salterton, just a five minute gentle walk from the Jurassic Coast, sea and picturesque Otter Valley and a fifteen minute walk to the high street. Hotel has recently been refurbished to a very high standard.
Nestling in spacious gardens with views across the Otter Valley, our tranquil environment ensures you a relaxing break from day-to-day stresses. For your further overall comfort, there is a non-smoking policy throughout the hotel. The hotel has ample off-road parking.
The town of Budleigh Salterton is an exclusive residential coastal town with few of the trappings of a "seaside resort" (see "About the Area" page). Situated on the East Devon "Jurassic" coast, World Heritage Site, guests at the Long Range Hotel and Restaurant can enjoy activities from bird-watching to walks as well as many local sporting and musical events.
Spacious and light, the majority of our rooms have recently been refurbished and overlook the garden. They have far-reaching and stunning views over the Otter Valley and coastline. Rooms with a frontal aspect still enjoy interesting views towards Budleigh salterton – and all enjoy tremendous peace. They are comfortably appointed with well-stocked refreshment trays, remote-control colour televisions, alarm clock/radios, hairdryers and adjustable radiators.
The individually planned six double/twin or king rooms are all en suite, with either bath or shower. The cosy single room, which enjoys the spectacular views, has a private power shower and loo. The rooms have been refurbished with tasteful new colours, furniture and soft bedroom fittings. New en suite facilities complement the relaxing environment.
Beds are made up with duvets, but we will be happy to provide sheets and blankets if requested in advance.
We invite you to indulge…your taste buds in our light-filled, garden-side restaurant which hold the RAC Dining Award. For an establishment of our size to be awarded an RAC Dining Award is quite a rare occurrence we are told, so we are very proud of this accolade. It indicates above-average, carefully prepared food using fresh ingredients. Its prerequisite is an enthusiastically created menu, complemented by the wine list, service and total dining experience. Above and beyond this, we choose to use locally produced ingredients as often as possible.
Sitting room & conservatory : Rest and relaxation is our aim, whether in guests’ private rooms or in the two guest reception areas. Enjoy the cosy sitting room (with daily and local newspapers, and sofas plush enough to fall asleep in!) which creates a cocoon-like comfort zone especially on cold, miserable days. Or walk through the French doors into the spacious wicker-furnished conservatory and immediately, even on a grey day, have your spirits lifted.
This well-proportioned light and airy room, simply but tastefully decorated in green and terracotta hues, just begs you to sit and enjoy the garden view. Also in the conservatory is a small bar area – we hold a Restaurant and Residential licence to serve hotel residents and their guests at any reasonable hour, and restaurant guests when dining.
