Come away to a Glorious Country House Hotel tucked away in the Brecon Beacons, South Wales.
The chances are you have landed on this site as you are looking for a small Country House hotel in a stunning location, which offers good food and service with neither exorbitant prices nor a lot of pretension; you may well have found what you are looking for.
Gliffaes has 23 bedrooms, all are individually decorated and furnished and all have private bathrooms, a number of which are twin bedded. All rooms have private bathrooms.
The rooms are priced according to size and view, the best rooms all have spectacular views across the Usk valley, while the others all look over our magnificent grounds.
We have one standard room that is on the ground floor and is suitable for those that can not manage stairs.
We do not have family rooms as such but we are able to put camp beds in a small number of our larger rooms. All the rooms are equipped for baby listening via the telephone system.
Most of the large doubles have a DVD player and we have a portable DVD player which can be brought into other rooms. The hotel has a small collection of around 30 films.
Dining : Being in the middle of a National Park and surrounded by farmland that is not intensively farmed means we have access to some especially good meat, lamb and beef in particular. Moving into winter we are enjoying the best of game; partridge, pheasant and venison. Pumpkin, turnip & other root vegetables are delicious roasted with garlic. The Hotel has been awarded an AA Rosette for its cooking for the 8th year in a row.
Gliffaes is located in South Wales in the middle of the Brecon Beacon's National Park, between the two market towns of Abergavenny and Brecon in the valley of the River Usk.
