The 17th Century building has been a hotel and public house for many years. The name hints at its local history, the ceiling beams in the bars containing ships spars from some of the ships that have been wrecked in Trevaunance cove, the local beach.

There are 15 bedrooms all with ensuite shower or bath, some with wonderful sea views and one with a delightful half tester Victorian bed. Each room has colour TV, telephone, hostess tray and hair dryer. Cot/high chair availiable on request.

The hotel has its own upstairs eating area which combines good food with an intimate and friendly atmosphere. Use is made of locally grown vegetables and fresh caught fish and shellfish as possible when in season. The sea air will give you a hearty appetite for the enormous Cornish breakfasts. Good bar food is available in the evening as well as at lunchtime.

At weekends throughout the year, live music is a popular feature, with both local and nationally recognised bands performing on Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm until midnight.
