Tucked beneath the steep face of the North Downs on the Pilgrims Way at Thurnham near Maidstone in Kent is a homely and welcoming Inn adorned with hops and beams with an open log fireplace to welcome you in winter.
Our chefs pride themselves on using the best local & homegrown produce to give you an exciting range of mouth-watering English and Continental dishes.
A separate annex built in 2004 & 2006 houses 11 beautiful en-suite bed and breakfast rooms.

The actual age of the Inn is not known, but in the 18th century it may well have been a forge with adjoining barns and stables owned by the Fuller family. Between 1744 and 1751 the buildings were converted to an inn and given the present name.
Walk across to the gravelled courtyard with pond and fountain to view our accommodation annexe which houses six beautiful en-suite bed and breakfast rooms. All individually furnished and decorated each room having its own characteristics and style and offering wonderful views of the North Downs . For the comfort of all our guests all rooms are non-smoking and have WI-FI Internet access, TV, DVD player, Radio/alarm, Complimentary mineral water, Tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and Complimentary morning newspapers in the breakfast room. The restaurant offers full lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. Booking is advisable.
Rates : From £37.50 to £60 per person per night. £75 per room per night based on 2 people sharing. Family room from £85 to £115 per night.
