Alvey House Hotel, Newtonmore, Inverness-shire

Situated in the traditional Highland village of Newtonmore, our hotel provides first class accommodation and excellent meals, in a very relaxing environment. The hotel is set in an acre of gardens with ample parking for all guests, but only a few minutes walk from the village. Newtonmore is just south of Aviemore in Inverness shire, and lies within the border of the new Cairngorms National Park.

No other area of the UK offers such a wealth of things to do and see in such fabulous mountain scenery and with activities on offer at all levels of ability. What ever you like to do to offset the day to day stresses and strains of life - touring and sightseeing, walking, skiing, golf, cycling, water sports, pony trekking or maybe just relaxing with a good book - you will return to an excellent meal and a peaceful evening at Alvey House.

Our aim is to provide you with the best we can, and you have our personal commitment to your comfort and enjoyment throughout your stay with us.

There are seven bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms, offering a mix of double, family, twin and single accommodation. All rooms have central heating, colour TV, hospitality trays and hair dryers, and have recently been decorated with their own style and character. Where required, we can provide a cot and/or an additional folding bed for use in the family rooms. Well-behaved pets are welcomed but please make sure that you bring your pet's bedding with you.

However you spend your day, our downstairs rooms are designed to ensure you relax for the evening. There is a sun room where you can enjoy the sunshine and the views even when it might be chilly out of doors. The lounge with open fire is a television-free zone to allow you to relax with a drink either before or after dinner. The lounge also has a good selection of games, books and maps for guests' use.

The hotel has an elevated position in the village and there are open mountain views all round. When the weather is fine, guests can relax outdoors in the garden. There is also a drying room and an equipment store for your golfing clubs, walking boots, skis etc, plus lockable garage space for cycle storage if required, and with an acre of grounds, there is ample parking on-site for guests' exclusive use.

One of the nicest things about being on holiday is not having to cook, so we take great care to make sure that dining with us is as memorable as the rest of your stay.

Our breakfast menu has a wide choice of traditional and continental breakfasts and will set up even the hungriest of guests for the rest of the day. Our Dinner menu is very varied, including interesting vegetarian dishes, and is changed daily. All of our meals are freshly cooked, using local produce wherever possible and reflecting the very best of Scottish cooking.

Dinner is normally served at 7.00pm, but we are happy to offer an earlier or later sitting if this suits your holiday plans. We also have a good selection of reasonably- priced wines to enjoy with your meal and a small, but well-stocked bar for a pre-dinner cocktail or a relaxing dram with your coffee.
