The Beech Hill Hotel is built into the hillside over 7 levels so that the majority of our rooms have lake views and lead out onto terraced gardens or private balconies.

Classic : Classic rooms are en-suite with many offering a partial lake view. Hospitality tray, remote controlled colour television, hairdryer, radio alarm and direct dial telephone come as standard in all of our bedrooms.

Select Double : Select rooms are more spacious en-suite rooms with Lake views, many with patio doors leading onto a garden terrace or private balcony. All of our Select rooms offer feature beds such as canopy or king sized beds. Some Select rooms also offer spa baths.

Select Plus Double : Select Plus rooms are spacious rooms which are all en-suite with spa bath and shower. All Select Plus rooms offer a feature bed such as king sized or four poster and stunning lake views from patio doors that open onto a garden terrace.

Premier : Premier rooms are all large rooms with quality furnishings such as four poster or antique oak king sized beds. All are en-suite with corner spa bath and separate shower cabinets and have patio doors with lake views that open on to a garden terrace. Many lead straight down to the waters edge. For added luxury we provide all of our Premier Rooms with fresh flowers,bath robes and mineral water on arrival.

Premier Plus : Premier Plus rooms are our newest and most luxurious rooms with modern furnishings and king sized beds. All are en-suite with corner spa bath and separate shower cabinets and offer stunning lake views from patio doors that open onto a decking area. All of our Premier Plus Rooms come with plasma screen televisions and air conditioning as standard. Fresh flowers, bath robes and mineral water will be provided in your room.

We have a selection of Lake View rooms available on the ground floor, and our front of house team will reserve parking spaces at the front of the Hotel for anyone with mobility difficulties

The Wordsworth Suite :This is the ultimate in luxury. It boasts an ornate super king sized antique oak bed with walnut furnishings and modern décor. The large bathroom has a double shower cabinet and roll top bath. The room has some exclusive extras such as plasma screen TV and DVD player, remote controlled curtains and private access to the pool side.

Patio doors which stretch across the room give the Wordsworth Suite panoramic views of Lake Windermere, and what more perfect way to enjoy the views than from your own private outdoor hot tub. Fresh flowers, bath robes and mineral water will be provided in your room.

Burlington's Restaurant : The rich farmlands of Cumbria provide abundant produce of which The Beech Hill's kitchen makes full use. The hotel is actively involved with the annual Taste of Cumbria Food and Drink Festival - an entertaining showcase for the gourmet delights available from the county. Dinner in the Burlington's Restaurant, with its award winning food, service and Lake views from almost every window, is the highlight of any stay at The Beech Hill. Saturday evenings are particularly enjoyable as guests are entertained by a jazz quartet or pianist.

The Area : The jewel in the Cumbrian crown is the Lake District with its 850 square miles of protected parklands, mountains and lakes, making it the UK’s first and largest National Park. The National Park Visitor Centre is located at Brockhole, midway between Ambleside and Windermere. It is a magnificent house set in 30 acres of terraced gardens and a must on any visitor’s list.

At the heart of the National Park is Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England at 12 miles long and 220 feet deep. One of the best views of it and the mountains beyond is from the terrace of The Beech Hill Hotel that most certainly occupies one of the most superior locations on Windermere’s eastern shore.

Onsite Leisure Facilities : With a wall of floor to ceiling windows and panoramic views of Lake Windermere, what better way to relax after a day of sight seeing than to use our indoor leisure facilities. Guests are welcome to use the leisure facilities throughout their stay, which comprise of a 40 foot indoor heated pool.

Patio doors lead onto a garden terrace where you can sunbathe on our outdoor loungers and take in the views. For anyone who lives locally and would like to enjoy the peace and relaxation our Leisure Club has to offer on a more regular basis, we now offer annual membership.

Of course, the leisurely pleasure of The Beech Hill is in its surroundings. There are leisure activities to suit all ages within easy reach of the hotel.
