Warkworth House Hotel, Warkworth, Northumberland

Warkworth House in Northumberland was once a coaching inn and is now a comfortable 3-star hotel. Whether staying on business or enjoying a short break, our guests really appreciate the relaxed, friendly atmosphere, our genuine warmth & hospitality and the quality & value of our locally-sourced food, prepared on the premises by our team of chefs.
The hotel enjoys a fine position in Warkworth, cradled by a loop of the River Coquet and set less than a mile inland on the Northumberland Heritage Coast.
The present Warkworth House was built as a traditional coaching inn on the site of four C.18th burgage houses. Coaching inns were established along stagecoach routes across the country as welcome places for travellers to rest.
We like to feel that we continue that tradition of providing warm hospitality.
The hotel contains a fine staircase, originally from Brandenburg House in London, the home of Caroline of Brunswick, cousin and wife of George, Prince of Wales, who was crowned King George IV in 1821. None other than George Frederick Handel wrote the music, popular at weddings to this day, for their coronation.
