Burythorpe House is a boutique country house hotel close to York. Combining a relaxed, house-guest atmosphere, a renowned restaurant and stylish, individually-appointed bedrooms, the hotel makes a unique base for a few days of relaxation and exploring beautiful North Yorkshire.

Burythorpe House is set on the edge of the small village of Burythorpe, some 5 miles from Malton and 18 from York.

We have 12 bedrooms, all individual in style, and all refurbished in 2007 with modern bathrooms featuring Moulton Brown toiletries.

Our rooms are in three categories:
Luxury - Our best, most spacious rooms. Truly special.
Superior - Each with its own character, but all stylish and elegant. All Superior rooms have king-sized beds.
Petite - Cosy rooms, large enough for 2, often reserved for single use.

If you enjoy a game of tennis, we have an outdoor court (hard surface) available for the use of our guests. We can also arrange tennis coaching at reasonable rates – please enquire before your stay so we can make the arrangements. We also have an indoor pool, sauna and gym; a pleasant way of enjoying a little activity during your stay.

The Priory Restaurant is intimate and atmospheric, with oak panelling and contemporary artworks. Our wine list, especially selected in collaboration with Yorkshire importers Playford Ros, draws from all the best winemaking regions of the world.
