Places to visit include The Kymin, once visited by Lord Nelson and now owned by The National Trust it is a Georgian style house set in 4 acres of land. Skenfrith Castle is also owned by The National Trust and is a Norman Castle. The keep and motte remain now and this is certainly worth a visit.

The Beaufort Hotel is situated at the very centre of the historic border town of Chepstow. Popular with locals and visitors alike,the Beaufort is the oldest,continously trading hotel in South Wales. As a hotel which has been trading since the 17th Century our rooms are varied in size and shape. Some have original oak beams others are more modern having been added over the last few years. Whatever the style of room all are en-suite and we endevour to ensure a high degree of cleanliness and comfort. Most rooms are enabled for wifi internet communication. In keeping with a hotel of this nature there is no lift but we do have rooms on the ground floor for those who struggle with stairs. Our award winning restaurant offers guests a modern a la carte menu featuring traditional British and international dishes to suit all palates. We buy much of our meat directly from local farmers and use Wye Valley and Welsh produce were possible. Our bar is very popular with locals and residents alike and is open throughout the day for tea, coffee or something stronger. We pride ourselves on offering one of the widest ranges locally of draught beers, lagers and traditional ales. In addition the bar stocks every spirit and liqueur imaginable. How To Find Us: M5, M4 to South Wales, then M48 over the old Severn Bridge. Take the 1st junction (1), and follow the signs to Chepstow. At Highbeech roundabout, take the third exit (A48 to Gloucester) follow the road until you see a large church at the bottom of the hill on the left hand side (you can see the back of the hotel from here) turn left before the church at the traffic lights and left again onto the one way system. You can then see the sign for the hotel and the car park on the right. Rates: From £49 to £85 per room per night based on 2 people sharing. Children are welcome. No smoking.
