Set in the heart of the legendary Cotswold countryside, The Falcon stands in the centre of the renowned conservation village of Painswick, right on the rambler's favourite walk of The Cotswold Way.
The Falcon's location means that it is very much a first choice stopover by tourists and walkers enjoying the breathtaking, rambling Gloucestershire hills and the valleys all around.
There is even a special drying room provided at the Falcon for the convenience of walkers, together with a large private guests car park. We also have a unique function room converted from the original stables, it is situated in the grounds separate from the inn and is available for private parties and business meetings in Painswick.

The Falcon, Painswick, has a fascinating history. Built in 1554, it served as a courthouse as well as a licensed house from the 17th century and the court of the Baron was held at the Inn for 200 years.
It was on many occasions the scene of cockfights and the first ever Masonic ceremony in the county was staged at The Falcon.
From the beginning of the 19th century until the advent of the motoring age, The Falcon Inn, Painswick was the principal Coaching Inn and Posting House for the region with stage coaches leaving regularly for London and destinations, from Painswick throughout the county.
