Candlesticks Hotel & Restaurant, Stamford, Lincolnshire

Candlesticks is situated in a quite lane in the oldest part of the market town of Stamford. The building itself dates back to around 1730. Originally five empty derelict cottages, they were sympathetically converted and restored in 1974, and Candlesticks opened as a retaurant in 1975 and has been under the same ownership since then.

There is a private off road car park for residents as well as a large public car park around the corner.

Many attractions are close by, such as Burghley House which is a ten minute walk. Rockingham Racetrack and Rutland Water are a few minutes by car.

Stamford Train Station is around the corner and has excellent connections to most parts of the country. The bus station is a short walk across the town meadows. The A1 is two minutes drive from here.

There are eight bedrooms in total, all of which are non-smoking and en-suite. There are three Twin (showers), 3 Double (bath / shower), and 1 Single (double bed and shower).

Each room has a kettle and toaster as well as well as a fridge which is stocked with a self service breakfast. This includes:- bread, milk, tea, fruit juice, yoghurt, marmalade, mineral water. There are also cereals, ground coffee and fresh fruit.

Residents, when checked in, are given a key for the entrance so they can come and go as they please.

The restaurant has an extensive and varied menu using the finest local Lincolnshire produce as well as combining specially sourced produce from Madeira and Portugal. The restaurant retains traditional standards of silver service with classical French, English and Portuguese cuisine.

There are two dining rooms available. The first is on the ground floor and can seat around 24 people and has easy access. The second dining room is in our cellars and can accommodate about 50 people.

We can cater for vegetarians as well as people with special dietry needs.

Private parties can be catered for, as well as celebrations such as small weddings or anniversaries.

Rates : £32.50 to £50.00 per person per night. From £65 per room per night based on 2 people sharing.
