The Rutland Arms Hotel is situated in stunning scenery amidst The Peak District National Park. Set in the magnificent town of Bakewell, the Rutland Arms Hotel offers a hint of Georgian elegance in unrivalled surroundings. Built for the Duke of Rutland in 1804, today the building exudes a unique character with a warm, friendly atmosphere and the traditional charm reminiscent of that era. The hotel and stable building dates back to 1804 and was built by the Duke of Rutland on the site of the old White Horse Inn. Each of the 35 rooms here at the Rutland Hotel are styled to ensure that the history of the buildings has been retained and many have enviable views of the town and surrounding landscape. A selection of single, twin and double bedded rooms are available in both the main hotel building and the courtyard building which is situated across the road from the main building adjacent to our Antiques Centre. Hawthorn Farm is a grade two listed house dating from before 1580, the house was converted into a guest house over 70 years ago. We have two rooms in the main house and a further six rooms in the converted cow sheds. They have en-suite shower facilities with all our rooms and a two room suite with private shower room and additional toilet. All the rooms have flat screen digital TV, tea and coffee making facilities, alarm clocks and hairdryers. Some of their rooms are pet friendly; only two dogs at a time and by arrangement only please (email or phone to check first). There is a 69 par golf course virtually on our door step which offers discounts to our guests, with an all weather driving range also next door to them. We also have a local leisure centre with swimming pool, sauna, steam room and fully equipped gym that allows our guest to use its facilities for £5 per day. They are now in their third year here and enjoy it very much and have done lots of refurbishment and they certainly hope to provide everything their guests need. Your lovely hosts, Michael and Fiona, hope they can make your stay a good one and they try very hard to be flexible and friendly, in the hope that they can make your stay an enjoyable one however long or short.
